What does the SRT cleaner remove?
Automatic transcription tools and fan subtitles often arrive full of noise: the same line
repeated twice in a row because two engines overlapped, empty cues with timestamps but no text,
[door slams] and (phone ringing) hearing-impaired tags, ♪ markers around
songs, and punctuation like Really?!! or trailing ... on every line.
Each checkbox above targets one of these problems, so you can see exactly what changes and keep
anything you actually want — the hearing-impaired tags are off-limits to nobody, but comedy and
accessibility releases often keep them.
Will it renumber the cues?
Yes. After cleaning, cues are renumbered 1, 2, 3… with no gaps, which is what YouTube and most editors expect. Timing is never modified — if you also need to resync, use the Subtitle Shifter afterwards.
